What is Reiki Healing?

        Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive form of hands on healing that falls under the category of complementary and alternative therapies. The National Institute of Health classifies Reiki as a 'biofield energy therapy' and is currently funding studies to measure its effects.

          Developed in Japan in the late 1800s, Reiki has been practiced in the United States since the 1930s. Scientific-based studies have begun on Reiki, but early evidence shows Reiki practitioners have always known: Reiki effectively relieves stress, decreases pain, and accelerates healing on mental and emotional as well as physical levels.

          Studies at the Cross Cancer Research Center in Canada and the University of Michigan support Reiki's use as an adjunctive treatment for acute or chronic pain. At the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire, Reiki is used to ease anxiety in patients preparing for surgery. Reiki is especially useful for reducing stress.

          The ki in Reiki is a subtle form of the ki or chi found in the martial arts of aikido or tai chi. Applied through gentle touch, Reiki healing stimulates and restores the body's vital energy thus healing body, heart, and mind. Reiki can be used alone or as a complementary therapy to enhance medical treatment (allopathic or natural) and psychotherapy.

What is a treatment like?

          The treatment consists of light touch on specific points of the client's clothed body. Most people experience a  Reiki treatment as gentle, soothing and deeply relaxing. Healing implies a movement toward wholeness on any level. So when we(Serena & Charles) say Reiki heals, that's what we mean. It can mean a cure in a single treatment, or relief over many treatments. When Reiki is applied and activated, it treats both the symptom and its underlying cause. While the hands on treatment addresses concerns on the physical and the energy level, the precepts guide us toward a healthier way of thinking and feeling - which ultimately gives rise to a healthier body.

What is Crystaline Reiki?

          A new higher vibration of energy has been coming to earth for some time. For those who are ready they can tune into this frequency and utilize it in the Reiki treatment. This level of energy calls for the practitioner to act as a conduit for the energy to come through, whilst at the same time being very much in a place of surrender. Treatments are performed under an Angelic gateway ( a merkaba formation created by specific layouts of crystals) which creates a portal of energy for which help to come to the client from a very high level if they wish to receive.
